Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of heroes who will separate from the primary party to begin their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death initiated the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his own means, breaking into the secret base, striking Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the party enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Questers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can anticipate learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
